About the Position

The role of Trainee in Master Modeling will involve working with modeling and analysis of data for the power system and providing data to various users within Svenska kraftnät and to external actors.

After your trainee year, you will belong to a team of about 10 people who work on maintaining Svenska kraftnät's central power system model. We work in a CIM-based tool developed to adapt data and models to different use cases.

You will work with:

• maintenance and development of data, power system models, and configuration, requirements specification, and testing.
• creating integrations between the central model and other systems/applications for various applications.
• colleagues working in different parts of Svenska kraftnät such as operational management, planning future networks, and expanding the transmission network.
• external contacts with industry actors both in Sweden and internationally.

You will have the opportunity to develop in modeling and data management for a changing power system together with a functioning team of competent colleagues.

About You

In your role as a trainee, you are an important ambassador and face of Svenska kraftnät. We are looking for someone who is curious, engaged, and humble in the fact that no one knows everything from the start. Even though much will be prepared and structured for you during your trainee year, it is crucial that you take responsibility for your own work and your development with us.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. Svenska kraftnät is a government authority, and it is important that you live up to the government’s values.

When the program starts, you should have a master's degree in electrical power or energy systems. Your degree should be issued in 2024, 2025, or expected in the summer of 2026. As we are looking for someone who is new in their career, we want you to have a maximum of two years of work experience, before or after your studies. Part-time jobs during your studies do not count.

You also have:

• very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

We consider it an advantage if you have experience in:

• experience from the electrical power industry
• experience in power system modeling
• good programming skills in Python or C#.

• Travel with overnight stays occurs regularly during the trainee year.
